About

Built for the bill
nobody reads

A wide empty open-plan office at dusk, rows of unoccupied desks, a few monitors still glowing mint, city skyline beyond the windows.

Ask a finance director what their company spends on software and you will get an exact number. Ask them what it buys and the answer gets much vaguer, much faster.

That gap is not incompetence. It is structural. Adding a seat takes ten seconds and needs no approval. Removing one requires somebody to notice, to know who owns it, to find the renewal date, and to care enough to chase it. Those are not the same job, and only one of them has an owner.

So the bill only ever goes one direction, and everybody assumes somebody else is watching it.

Ghostseats exists for that gap and nothing else. See every seat, find the ones nobody sits in, and cancel them before the contract quietly renews for another year.

The name

A seat with nobody in it

A ghost seat is a licence you pay full price for every single month while nobody logs in. It is not a metaphor we invented — it is what the thing actually is.

The mark is a seating chart. The filled squares are seats being used. The hollow ones are the seats you are also paying for.

How we work

Four things we hold to

01

The money is the point

We are not trying to tidy up your software estate. We are trying to stop you paying for things nobody uses. If a feature does not remove a line from a bill, it does not ship.

02

Read-only by design

We will never ask for the ability to cancel, deprovision or change anything. Not because we could not build it, but because the moment we hold that power we become a risk you have to review rather than a report you can trust.

03

No invented numbers

Our own calculator makes you set the assumptions, because we do not have a benchmark for your business and will not pretend otherwise. The same goes for anything else we tell you.

04

One job, done properly

There are good tools for procurement, vendor management and contract storage, and you may already own them. We are not going to build worse versions to look bigger.

Bring us the tool
you forgot you buy

Every company has at least one. We will show you the rest.
